Order in Council 1142/2019

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council considers it necessary to establish two special advisor positions to provide advice to the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities on matters relating to the skilled trades and apprenticeship system and the implementation of the Modernizing the Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2019;

Therefore, pursuant to section 4 of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Act:

1. Two Training and Skills Advisor positions are established for a term of two years, effective the date this Order in Council is made;
2. The Training and Skills Advisors shall be appointed by the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities to serve at pleasure for a term not exceeding two years;
3. The Training and Skills Advisors shall be accountable to the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities and shall perform the duties and carry out the activities set out in the Terms of Reference established by the Minister;
4. The Training and Skills Advisors shall be compensated at a rate determined by the Lieutenant Governor in Council;
5. The Training and Skills Advisors shall be reimbursed for work-related expenses incurred in carrying out their duties as a Training and Skills Advisor in accordance with the Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive and any other TB/MBC directives.
