Order in Council 116/2020

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Pursuant to subsections 4.1 (2) and 4.1(8) of the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998, as re-enacted by Schedule 2 of the Fixing the Hydro Mess Act, 2019, the chair, vice-chair, and other members of the board of directors of the Ontario Energy Board (“OEB”) shall, for the term of their respective appointments by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, be entitled to remuneration as follows:

Chair’s remuneration:

1. The chair of the OEB’s board of directors shall serve in this position on a part-time basis and shall be paid remuneration of $1250 per day, to a maximum of $200,780 per year.

Vice Chair’s remuneration:

2. The vice-chair of the OEB’s board of directors shall serve in this position on a part-time basis and shall be paid remuneration of $250 per day.

Other members’ remuneration:

3. The members of the OEB’s board of directors, other than the chair and vice-chair, shall each serve on a part-time basis and each be paid remuneration of $200 per day.

Expenses:

4. In addition to the remuneration set out above, the members of the OEB’s board of directors, including the chair and vice-chair, shall be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out their duties on the board of directors in accordance with the Management Board of Cabinet’s Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive.

Further, Order in Council O.C. 1109/2019, dated August 8, 2019, is hereby revoked as of the date this Order in Council is approved and ordered.

Further, this Order in Council shall be effective on the day that subsections 4.1 (2) and 4.1(8) of the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998, as re-enacted by Schedule 2 of the Fixing the Hydro Mess Act, 2019, come into force (“Proclamation Date”).

Further, this Order in Council shall be revoked on the second anniversary of the Proclamation Date.
