Order in Council 1180/2024

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council has established the office of Special Advisor, Toronto New Deal to the Minister of Finance (the “Special Advisor”) and has provided the Minister of Finance with authority to appoint the Special Advisor;

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of His Majesty the King in right of Ontario to provide for the remuneration of advisors who serve His Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities,

Special Advisor’s remuneration

1. The Special Advisor shall be paid remuneration at the rate of $627 per diem for service in their role as the Special Advisor, up to a maximum of 168 days per year. The maximum number of days shall be pro-rated for partial year appointments.

Expenses

2. In addition to the remuneration set out above, the Special Advisor shall be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out the duties of the Special Advisor in accordance with the Management Board of Cabinet’s Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive.
