Order in Council 130/2018

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas pursuant to section 4 of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Act, a Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology Task Force was established by O.C. 106/2018 for a period commencing January 18, 2018, and ending no later than March 31, 2019;

And Whereas O.C. 106/2018 provides that the members of the Task Force shall be appointed by the Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Development for terms ending no later than March 31, 2019;

And Whereas subsection 76(2) of the Legislation Act 2006 authorizes the Lieutenant Governor in Council to determine the remuneration and expenses of persons appointed by a Minister pursuant to an authority to appoint a person to an office;

Therefore:

1. The Chair of the Task Force shall be paid up to a maximum of $1500.00 for every full day the Chair spends on the business of the Task Force provided that the total remuneration for the term of the Chair’s appointment shall not exceed $219,000;
2. The members designated by the Minister as public sector members shall not be entitled to remuneration, but for greater certainty, shall be reimbursed for expenses as set out in paragraph 4;
3. Each member, other than the Chair, who is not designated by the Minister as a public sector member shall be paid up to a maximum of $300.00 for every full day the member spends on the business of the Task Force provided that the total remuneration for the term of the member’s appointment shall not exceed $25,500;
4. The Chair, and the members other than the Chair, shall be reimbursed for all reasonable expenses incurred while engaged in the business of the Task Force in accordance with all relevant directives, guidelines and policies of the Treasury Board/ Management Board of Cabinet.
