On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas Thomas Bell has been appointed as president of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (“WSIB”);

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 162(3) of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997,

Thomas Bell be paid annual remuneration of $415,000 during the term of his appointment, less applicable deductions, to be pro-rated for any partial year of his appointment;

Further, Thomas Bell be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in the performance of duties as the President of the WSIB in accordance with the relevant directives, guidelines and policies of TB/MBC and any applicable WSIB policies.

Further, Thomas Bell be eligible for pension benefits under the WSIB’s pension plan and its supplementary pension plan in accordance with the terms of those plans;

Further, Thomas Bell be eligible for any employee benefits provided by the WSIB in accordance with the terms of the WSIB’s employee benefit plans for its senior management staff;

Further, Thomas Bell be entitled to up to six weeks paid vacation per year, plus an additional week of paid vacation under the WSIB Management Compensation Option, to be pro-rated for any partial year of his appointment;

And further, except as specified in this OIC, Thomas Bell is not entitled to any other payments, entitlements or benefits whatsoever from the WSIB during the term of his appointment.
