On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas Order in Council O.C. 643/2019 made May 2, 2019 (the “Establishment OIC”) established the Ontario Provincial Police Independent Review Panel (the “Independent Review Panel”), for the purposes of the Ontario Provincial Police workplace culture review.  The Independent Review Panel members are being remunerated pursuant to Order in Council O.C. 644/2019 (the “Remuneration OIC”).

And wheras The Establishment OIC was amended by O.C. 1346/2019 made September 26, 2019 to extend the length of the Independent Review Panel to December 31, 2019. Accordingly, the Remuneration OIC needs to be revoked and replaced with a new one.

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario to provide for the remuneration of persons who are appointed to serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities, in respect of the period beginning May 2, 2019 and not extending beyond December 31, 2019:

  1. Members of the Independent Review Panel shall be paid a remuneration based on a per diem of $1,200 daily, with a maximum amount of work days not exceeding 84 days and a total remuneration of $100,800 per member;
  2. Members of the Independent Review Panel shall be eligible for reimbursement of expenses incurred in their work on Independent Review Panel in accordance with the Management Board of Cabinet Travel, Meal and Hospitality Directive.

Order in Council O.C. 644/2019 is revoked on the day this Order in Council is made.
