On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas in Ontario, our native species are a vital component of our precious natural heritage and the people of Ontario wish to do their part in protecting species that are at risk and the present generation of Ontarians should protect species at risk for future generations;

And whereas the Government of Ontario has established the Species at Risk Conservation Trust to administer and manage the Species at Risk Conservation Fund, the purpose of which is to provide for the funding of activities that are reasonably likely to protect or recover conservation fund species or support their protection or recovery;

Now therefore, The following rates of remuneration shall apply to persons appointed to the board of directors of the Species at Risk Conservation Trust during the term of their appointment:

  1. for the member who is also chair, $225.00 per diem;
  2. for any member who is also vice-chair, $175.00 per diem;
  3. for any other member, $150.00 per diem.

And further, the chair, -chair and members are entitled to be paid travel and other necessary expenses incurred while engaged in the business of the board of directors of the Species at Risk Conservation Trust in accordance with the policy on expenses set out in the Directives and Guidelines of the Management Board of Cabinet.

And further, this Order in Council takes effect on the day that the regulation made under the Endangered Species Act, 2007, establishing the Species at Risk Conservation Trust comes into force.
