Order in Council 1369/2016

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

whereas pursuant to section 4 of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Act, a French Language University Planning Board was established by O.C. 919 /2016 for a period commencing June 8, 2016, and ending no later than March 31, 2017;

and whereas O.C. 919/2016 provides that the members of the Board shall be appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council for terms ending no later than March 31, 2017, and that the Lieutenant Governor in Council shall designate one member as Chair of the Board;  

and whereas subsection 76(2) of the Legislation Act 2006 authorizes the Lieutenant Governor in Council to determine the remuneration and expenses of persons appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council pursuant to an authority to appoint a person to an office; 

therefore:

1. The Chair shallbe paid up to a maximum of$1200.00 for every full day he or she spends on the business of the Board provided that the total remuneration for the term of the Chair’s appointment shall not exceed $124,800.00;

2. Each Member other than the Chair who is a student shall be paid up to a maximum of $200.00 for every full day he or spends on the business of the Board provided that the total remuneration for the term of the Member’s appointment shall not exceed $20,800.00
3. Each Member other than the Chair who is not a student shall be paid up to a maximum of $500.00 for every full day he or she spends on the business of the Board provided that the total remuneration for the term of the Member’s appointment shall not exceed $52,000.00;
4. The Chair and the Members other than the Chair shall be reimbursed for all reasonable expenses incurred in the performance of their duties in accordance with all relevant directives, guidelines and policies of the Treasury Board/ Management Board of Cabinet.
