Order in Council 1377/2023

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas subsection 159(6) of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997 provides that with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor in Council, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (“Board”) may acquire real property that the Board considers necessary for its purposes and may dispose of it;

And whereas the Board considers it necessary for the purpose of relocating its head office from Toronto, Ontario to London, Ontario to acquire in fee simple certain real property located in London, Ontario;

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 159(6) of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997, the Board is approved to purchase in fee simple in its own name from 3M Canada Company the real property legally described in Appendix “A” that is located at the municipal address 300 Tartan Drive, London, ON, N5V 4M9 (including buildings and land) for a purchase price of twenty-one million dollars ($21,000,000).
