Order in Council 1409/2016

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

whereas by Order in Council Bruce Rodrigues has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Education to serve at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council;

pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty The Queen in Right of Ontario to appoint persons to serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities, as of the effective date of Bruce Rodrigues’s appointment as Deputy Minister of Education and during that appointment:

1. Notwithstanding the maximum annual base salary in the salary range for deputy ministers established by any Order in Council approving a salary range applicable to deputy ministers in the Deputy Minister Compensation Plan, Bruce Rodriguesshall be paid an annual base salary of $255,000 and $255,000 is hereby deemed to be the maximum annual base salary applicable toBruce Rodrigues; and

2. Bruce Rodrigues shall be eligible to be paid a variable re-earnable incentive award, based on performance results in any year in which Cabinet approves such awards for Deputy Ministers, in accordance with the terms of the incentive program applicable to deputy ministers in the Deputy Minister Compensation Plan and subject to the restrictions set out in the Deputy Minister Compensation Plan and to any limitations imposed by law.
