Order in Council 1410/2016

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

whereas the Expert Committee to Consider Financial Planning Policy Alternatives (“Expert Committee”) was established by Order in Council 168/2015 for a period not exceeding twelve months from the date of the order (February 4, 2015);

and whereas the term of the Expert Committee was extended for an additional period to expire on or before October 3, 2016 pursuant to Order in Council 222/2016;

and whereas the Government of Ontario wishes to extend the term of the Expert Committee;

therefore pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario to establish advisory bodies and to provide for the appointment of advisors to serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities:

Expert Committee term extended

1. The term of the Expert Committee is hereby extended until December 31, 2016.

Terms of reference

2. The terms of reference for the Expert Committee are determined by the Minister of Finance (“Minister”) and may be amended from time to time.

Appointments to the Expert Committee continued

3. The members of the Expert Committee, including the Chair, who have been appointed by the Minister shall continue to serve at the Minister’s pleasure for an additional period to expire on or before December 31, 2016.

Remuneration

4. The members of the Expert Committee, including the Chair, shall continue to be paid such remuneration and reimbursed for such expenses as the Lieutenant Governor in Council may determine during the additional period.
