Order in Council 1449/2018

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Advisors to Regional Government Review has been established by Minister’s Order pursuant to section 11 of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing Act;

And whereas the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing will appoint two special advisors as the members of the Advisors to Regional Government Review;

And whereas subsection 76(2) of the Legislation Act, 2006 authorizes the Lieutenant Governor in Council to determine the remuneration and expenses of persons appointed by a Minister pursuant to an authority to appoint a person to an office;

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 76(2) of the Legislation Act, 2006,

1. Each special advisor appointed by the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing shall be compensated at the rate of:
   1. $600 (Six Hundred Dollars) for each day that he or she is engaged in the duties of special advisor, provided that he or she is engaged for more than 3 hours for that particular day, subject to (c);
   2. $300 (Three Hundred Dollars) for each day that he or she is engaged in the duties of special advisor, provided that he or she is engaged for 3 hours or less for that particular day, subject to (c); and
   3. the sum of the amounts paid under (a) and (b) shall not exceed $36,000 for the term of the appointment.
2. In addition to the remuneration set out above, each special advisor shall be reimbursed for reasonable work-related expenses incurred in carrying out their duties on the Advisors to Regional Government Review in accordance with the Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive.
