On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

  1. Fourteen Local Health Integration Networks (“LHINs”) were continued as corporations without share capital under subsection 3(1) of the Local Health System Integration Act, 2006 (the “Act”).
  2. LHINs are required under subsection 6(3) of the Act to obtain the approval of the Lieutenant Governor in Council before acquiring, disposing of, leasing, or otherwise transferring or encumbering any interest in real property, except for leasing office space that is reasonably necessary for the purposes of the LHIN.
  3. The LHINs deliver and seek to expand the delivery of health and related social services, supplies and equipment for the care of persons in the home, community and other settings and to provide the goods and services necessary to assist caregivers in the provision of care to such persons, consistent with the LHINs’ mandate for the direct delivery of home and community care services from leased premises.

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 6(3) of the Act, approval is hereby given to the LHINs:

  1. to continue and enter into lease arrangements for premises for the purpose of the LHINs delivering health and related social services, supplies and equipment for the care of persons in the home, community and other settings and to provide the goods and services to assist caregivers in the provision of care to such persons consistent with the LHINs’ mandate for the direct delivery of home and community care services.
