Order in Council 1500/2020

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas pursuant to section 11 of the Statistics Act (Canada), the Minister responsible for Statistics Canada may, subject to the approval of the Governor in Council, enter into an agreement with the government of a province for the exchange with, or transmission to, a statistical agency of the province of replies to any statistical enquiries, or replies to any specific classes of information collected under the Statistics Act (Canada);

And whereas in order to minimize the number of surveys and questionnaires sent to persons within Ontario and to carry out the purposes of the Statistics Act (Ontario), it is desirable to designate the Ontario Statistics Office, Statistics Integration Branch, Office of Economic Policy, Ministry of Finance as a statistical agency of the Province of Ontario for the purposes of receiving and sharing statistical information with Statistics Canada pursuant to section 11 of the Statistics Act (Canada);

the prerogative of Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario to designate administrative entities,

The Ontario Statistics Office, Statistics Integration Branch, Office of Economic Policy, Ministry of Finance is hereby designated the statistical agency of Ontario for the purposes of section 11 of the Statistics Act (Canada).

Order in Council O.C. 1964/95 dated October 11, 1995 is hereby revoked.
