Order in Council 1518/2021

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas subsection 159(6) of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997 provides that with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor in Council, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (“Board”) may acquire real property that the Board considers necessary for its purposes and may dispose of it;

And whereas the Board considers it necessary for its purposes to acquire leasehold interests in Waterloo;

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 159(6) of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997, the Board is approved to enter into a new lease arrangement for 25,702 sq. ft. at 2300 University Avenue, Waterloo, ON, N2K 0A2, 3rd Floor, for a term of five years commencing July 1, 2022 and with a base rent as follows:

1. Years 1 and 2: $16.00 per square foot, with a free rent period of nine months
2. Years 3 and 4: $16.50 per square foot
3. Year 5: $17.00 per square foot.
