Order in Council 1689/2023

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas section 87 of the Legislative Assembly Act, R.S.O. 1990, C. L. 10, provides for the composition of the Board of Internal Economy of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario;

And whereas paragraph 87(1)(b) provides that the Lieutenant Governor in Council shall appoint a commissioner and an alternate commissioner to the Board of Internal Economy from among the members of the Executive Council;

And whereas subsection 87(2) provides that an alternate commissioner appointed under subsection (1) shall have the powers and duties of a commissioner for whom they are an alternate, but only if the commissioner is absent or unable to fulfil their duties, or if the office is vacant.

Therefore, the Honourable Andrea Khanjin a member of the Executive Council of Ontario, is appointed, effective the date of this Order,  as an alternate commissioner of the Board of Internal Economy, and may act where the commissioner appointed under paragraph 87(1)(b) is absent or unable to fulfill their duties, or if the offices is vacant.
