Order in Council 1694/2023

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas by Order in Council 1693/2023, the position of Ontario’s Representative in Washington, D.C. (District of Columbia) was continued,

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of His Majesty the King in Right of Ontario to provide for the remuneration of advisors who serve His Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities, the following remuneration and related matters are determined:

Remuneration:

1. Ontario’s Representative in Washington D.C. (District of Columbia) shall be paid annual remuneration of $350,000 (Canadian).
2. Ontario’s Representative in Washington D.C. (District of Columbia) shall be entitled to medical, dental and extended insured benefits, excluding pension, equivalent to those applicable to Senior Economic Officers working abroad on behalf of Ontario.

Expenses:

3. Ontario’s Representative in Washington D.C. (District of Columbia) shall be entitled to reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out the duties of such position in accordance with the Management Board of Cabinet’s Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive and other applicable agreements.
4. Ontario’s Representative in Washington D.C. (District of Columbia) shall be entitled to such other applicable allowances and premiums, including relocation and accommodation, equivalent to those applicable to Senior Economic Officers working abroad on behalf of Ontario.

And further that Order in Council 1115/2018 be revoked, effective the date this Order in Council is made.
