Order in Council 1705/2017

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (the “Ministry”) requires a chair to support the Ministry team in negotiations with the Ontario Medical Association;

Now therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty the Queen in right of Ontario to establish positions to serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities:

1. The position of Negotiations Team Chair is established beginning on October 1, 2017 or the date that this order in council is approved and ordered, whichever is later, and continuing at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council for a period not extending past September 30, 2019.
2. The terms of reference for the Negotiations Team Chair are those that have been determined by the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care (the “Minister”) entitled Terms of Reference – Negotiations Team Chair, as they may be amended by the Minister from time to time.
3. The Negotiations Team Chair shall be paid such remuneration and expenses as the Lieutenant Governor in Council may determine.
4. The Negotiations Team Chair is subject to the applicable laws of Ontario, the Management Board of Cabinet’s Agencies & Appointments Directive and any successor thereto, and to all other applicable government directives, policies and guidelines.
