On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas Melissa Young has been appointed as chief executive officer (“CEO”) of Skilled Trades Ontario by Order in Council O.C.1773/2021.

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 45(2) of the Building Opportunities in the Skilled Trades Act, 2021, Melissa Young is hereby entitled to the following remuneration and benefits in respect of this appointment:

  1. Salary at the rate of $361,000 per annum less applicable deductions;
  2. Reimbursement for reasonable expenses incurred in the performance of duties as the CEO of Skilled Trades Ontario in accordance with all applicable Treasury Board and Management Board of Cabinet directives, guidelines and policies;
  3. Eligibility for participation in the Skilled Trades Ontario RRSP program allowing up to 6% of salary contribution with employer matched RRSP contributions;
  4. Eligibility for any employee benefits provided by Skilled Trades Ontario in accordance with the terms of Skilled Trades Ontario’s employee benefit plans for  its senior management staff;
  5. Vacation at the rate of six weeks per annum, to be prorated for any partial year of her appointment; and
  6. In the event that Melissa Young’s appointment as CEO of Skilled Trades Ontario is revoked prior to its expiration for any reason other than (a) for cause, or (b) voluntary resignation, and provided Melissa Young will not be otherwise employed or appointed to another position by any Ontario ministry, provincial agency, board or commission, or any designated broader public sector organization (as defined in the Broader Public Sector Accountability Act, 2010) within one (1) year following the early termination of her appointment, entitlement to a payment equal to one year (12 months) of annual salary, less applicable deductions, which payment shall be made by way of lump sum payment.

Further, except as specified in this Order in Council, Melissa Young is not entitled to any other payments, entitlements or benefits whatsoever from Skilled Trades Ontario relating to this appointment as CEO of Skilled Trades Ontario.

And further, this Order in Council is effective the later the date subsection 45(2) of the Building Opportunities in the Skilled Trades Act, 2021 is proclaimed into force and January 1, 2022.
