Order in Council 1861/2022

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Electrification and Energy Transition Panel (the “Panel”) was established by Order in Council 698/2022 pursuant to subparagraph 12(1)(a) of the Ministry of Energy Act, 2011;

And whereas Order in Council 698/2022 provides that the members of the Panel, including the Chair, shall be paid such remuneration and expenses as the Lieutenant Governor in Council may determine;

And whereas the term of the Panel is extended and the Panel is now established for the period commencing April 1, 2022 and not extending beyond December 31, 2023;

And whereas it is desirable to revoke Order in Council 699/2022 and replace it with a new one;

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 12(2) of the Ministry of Energy Act, 2011, the following remuneration and expenses are determined:

1. Each member of the Panel, excluding the Chair, shall be remunerated at a rate of $723.00 per diem, up to a maximum amount of $72,300.00; and
2. The member who is appointed as the Chair shall be remunerated at a rate of $1,000.00 per diem, up to a maximum amount of $150,000; and
3. The members of the Panel, including the Chair, shall be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out their duties in accordance with applicable Management Board of Cabinet and Treasury Board directives, including the Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive.

Order in Council 699/2022 is hereby revoked on the day this Order in Council is made.
