Order in Council 195/2024

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas subsection 8(1) of the Public Hospitals Act provides that the Lieutenant Governor in Council may appoint one or more persons to investigate and report on the quality of the management and administration of a hospital, the quality of the care and treatment of patients in a hospital or any other matter relating to a hospital where the Lieutenant Governor in Council considers it in the public interest to do so;

And whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council considers it in the public interest that an investigator be appointed for Stevenson Memorial Hospital (hereinafter referred to as the “Hospital”) under the Public Hospitals Act, to investigate and report on the governance and management of the Hospital and all related issues;

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 8(1) of the Public Hospitals Act,

Janice Skot

is hereby appointed as an Investigator to investigate and report on the governance and management of the Hospital and all related issues.

And further, the Investigator shall be paid such remuneration and expenses as the Lieutenant Governor in Council may determine.

This appointment terminates on the earliest of July 26, 2024 and the date on which the Investigator submits the final investigation report to the Minister of Health.
