On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas:

  1. The Minister of Health and Long-Term Care (the “Minister”) has authority under subsection 18(1) of the Public Hospitals Act to appoint inspectors of public hospitals.
  2. The Minister intends to appoint an inspector to conduct a review of clinical operations at the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (the “Inspector”) and wishes to remunerate the appointee at the rate set out below.
  3. Pursuant to the Management Board of Cabinet Agencies & Appointments Directive, any remuneration of an appointee who is to be paid by the government must be specifically authorized in an Order and Council.

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 76(2) of the Legislation Act, 2006:

  1. The person appointed as Inspector shall be remunerated at the rate of $1,000 per day, based on a 7.25 hour day.
  2. The number of days for which the Inspector may be remunerated under this Order shall not exceed a total of twenty-one (21) days.
  3. The person appointed as Inspector shall be reimbursed for reasonable expenses that are incurred while carrying out the duties of that position in accordance with the relevant directives, guidelines and policies of Treasury Board and Management Board of Cabinet.
