Order in Council 239/2017

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas pursuant to clause 10(a) of the Education Act the Minister of Education may appoint such advisory or consultative bodies as may be considered necessary by the Minister from time to time;

And whereas subsection 11(2) of Ontario Regulation 43/10 (Provincial Interest in Education) made under the Education Act permits the Minister of Education to appoint one or more individuals to conduct an expedited review of the performance of the York Region District School Board;

Therefore, the position of Reviewer is established for a period commencing the date this Order in Council is made and ending no later than April 7, 2017, to conduct an expedited review of the performance of the York Region District School Board;

Further, the Minister of Education may appoint one or more individuals to the position of Reviewer;

Further, an individual appointed to the position of Reviewer shall be paid such remuneration and expenses as the Lieutenant Governor in Council may determine.
