On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 received Royal Assent on March 26, 2019;

And whereas subsection 102 (1) of the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 provides for the appointment of the Deputy Inspector General of Policing;

And whereas pursuant to subsection 10 (1) of the Legislation Act, 2006, a power conferred by an Act to make appointments or do any other thing may be exercised at any time after Royal Assent, even if the Act is not yet in force;

And whereas it is desirable that Kenneth Alexander Weatherill of Ancaster be appointed as the Deputy Inspector General of Policing;

Therefore in accordance with subsection 10 (1) of the Legislation Act, 2006, and pursuant to subsection 102 (1) of the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019;

Kenneth Alexander Weatherill of Ancaster

is hereby appointed as the Deputy Inspector General of Policing, effective on the date subsection 102 (1) of the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 is proclaimed in force, to serve at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council for a period not to exceed five years from the date this order is made.
