Order in Council 372/2018

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas pursuant to an Order in Council The Honourable Justice David P. Cole was appointed as the Independent Reviewer (“Independent Reviewer”) to provide independent reports with respect to compliance with the 2013 Jahn settlement and the terms of an order entered as a consent order with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and dated January 16, 2108 (the “Order”);

Therefore pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty The Queen in Right of Ontario to provide for the remuneration of persons who serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities, the following remuneration is determined:

1. The Honourable Justice David P. Cole be compensated at a maximum rate not to exceed $1,401.10 per diem to a maximum amount not to exceed $177,000 for the duration of his appointment;
2. The Honourable Justice David P. Cole shall be reimbursed for work-related expenses incurred while engaged in the business of the Independent Reviewer in accordance with the Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive and any other TB/MBC directives.
