Order in Council 461/2018

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas by Order in Council O.C. 327/2015, the Government of Ontario established an advisory group to assist the Special Advisor to the Premier on Community Hubs in evaluating the existing inventory, consulting with stakeholders, and developing a strategic framework and related work plan to better leverage publicly owned assets to meet local community needs;

Whereas the advisory group, chaired by the Premier’s Special Advisor on Community Hubs, has issued a report with recommendations to guide the creation of community hubs entitled Community Hubs in Ontario: A Strategic Framework and Action Plan;

Whereas the advisory group, chaired by the Premier’s Special Advisor on Community Hubs issued a one-year progress report in August of 2016 and a two-year progress report in October of 2017 and the government has committed to continue to work with its partners and stakeholders on implementation of the recommendations of the Special Advisor and advisory group;

And Whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council considers it advisable to extend the appointment of the advisory group;

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty The Queen in Right of Ontario to establish advisory bodies and provide for the appointment of advisors to serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities:

Advisory Group extended

1. The Premier’s Community Hub Framework Advisory Group (the “Advisory Group”) accountable to the Premier of Ontario, established by Order in Council O.C. 327/2015 and extended by Order in Council O.C. 318/2016 and again by Order in Council O.C. 568/2017 is further extended for a period commencing April 1, 2018 and ending no later than March 31, 2019;

Terms of Reference

2. The Premier shall determine the terms of reference of the Advisory Group, and may amend them from time to time.

Appointments

3. The Advisory Group shall be comprised of up to sixteen (16) members appointed by the Premier.
