On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Government is committed to addressing the unique and disproportionate economic barriers women face;

And whereas the Government accordingly wishes to establish a task force to provide advice and recommendations to the Minister of Finance and the Associate Minister of Children and Women’s Issues, on how to address the unique and disproportionate economic barriers women face, particularly in an economy that will look different after covid-19;

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of her Majesty the Queen in right of Ontario, to provide for the appointment of advisors to serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities,

Task Force Established

  1. The Ontario’s Task Force on Women and the Economy (“Task Force”) is hereby established as a short-term advisory body, accountable to the Minister of Finance and the Associate Minister of Children and Women’s Issues, (collectively, the “Ministers”) for a period not exceeding nine months from the date of this Order.

Terms of Reference

  1. The Ministers shall determine the terms of reference for the Task Force and may amend them, as necessary from time to time.

Appointments to the Task Force

  1. The Ministers shall jointly appoint up to ten members to the Task Force and shall jointly designate one member as the Chair of the Task Force.
  2. The members of the Task Force, including the Chair, shall serve at the pleasure of both Minsters for a period not exceeding nine months from the date of this Order.

Remuneration

  1. The members of the Task Force, including the Chair, shall not be paid any remuneration for their services as members of the Task Force other than reimbursement for reasonable expenses incurred in accordance with the applicable Management Board of Cabinet and Treasury Board directives, including the Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive.
