Order in Council 616/2020

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas by Order in Council O.C. 2071/2017 made on October 18, 2017, Maureen Jensen was reappointed as a member and re-designated as Chair of the Ontario Securities Commission;

And whereas Maureen Jensen has resigned effective April 15, 2020;

And whereas by Order in Council O.C. 1002/2019 made on June 21, 2019, D. Grant Vingoe was reappointed as a member and re-designated as Vice-Chair of the Ontario Securities Commission;

And whereas subsection 3 (10) of the Securities Act states that a Vice-Chair shall act as Chair if the office of Chair is vacant;

And whereas by Order in Council 111/2020 made on January 21, 2020, D. Grant Vingoe has been designated as Chair of the Ontario Securities Commission, effective April 15, 2020;

Therefore Order in Council O.C. 2071/2017 is hereby revoked effective April 15, 2020.

And Order in Council O.C. 1002/2019 is hereby amended by adding the words “except for any period of time during which he is designated as Chair of the Commission” after the words “is designated as Vice-Chair of the Ontario Securities Commission for the term of his reappointment as a member of the Commission”.
