On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Minister of Education directed an urgent review of the Peel District School Board under Ontario Regulation 43/10, made under section 11.1 of the Education Act;

And whereas the Minister issued directions that, as required under subsection 14 (2) of Ontario Regulation 43/10, the board shall comply with;

And whereas pursuant to section 230 of the Education Act, the Minister may direct an investigation of the board’s affairs if the Minister has concerns that the board may have done or omitted to do something, and the act or omission contravenes, indicates an intention to contravene or might result in a contravention of a regulation made under section 11.1 of the Act;

And whereas subsection 230.2 (1) of the Act provides that where the Minister directs an investigation under section 230 of the Act, the Minister may appoint an investigator;

Therefore, in the event that the Minister of Education directs an investigation of the Peel District School Board under section 230 of the Act regarding the board’s compliance with directions made to the board under Ontario Regulation 43/10, and appoints an investigator under subsection 230.2 (1) of the Act, the person who is appointed shall be paid $2,000 for every full day worked and $1,000 for every half day worked in conducting the investigation, up to a maximum of $20,000.
