Order in Council 778/2024

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

<Whereaseight positions of Special Advisor, Agent-General (“A-G”) were established by Order in Council 956/2019, as amended by Order in Council 92/2022;

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of His Majesty the King in Right of Ontario to provide for the appointment of advisors to serve His Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities,

Order in Council 956/2019, as amended by Order in Council 92/2022, is further amended as follows:

1. By adding the following to the end of the last sentence of the first paragraph under the “Special Advisor” section:
   “and to the immediately following paragraph of this “Special Advisor” section.”
2. By adding a paragraph to the “Special Advisor” section to provide that:
   “The Special Advisor, Agent-General position to which the Lieutenant Governor in Council has made an appointment and which has been designated by the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade as a posting in London, United Kingdom, being thereby the A-G (London, United Kingdom), is hereby continued for a period not exceeding two years effective July 15, 2024.”
3. By adding the following at end of the paragraph under the “Appointment” section:
   “ and in the case of A-G (London, United Kingdom), the Lieutenant Governor in Council may re-appoint an A-G for a further term not exceeding two years corresponding to the continuation of the A-G (London, United Kingdom) position as provided for in the “Special Advisor” section above.”
