On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas it is desirable to establish an implementation team to provide advice to the Minister of Colleges and Universities and the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade (“Ministers”) on implementing Ontario’s Intellectual Property Action Plan;

Now therefore, pursuant to the authority under section 4 of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Act of the Lieutenant Governor in Council or the Minister of Colleges and Universities to appoint such advisory committees or other consulting bodies as are considered necessary from time to time, and pursuant to the authority under section 6.1 of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Act of the Lieutenant Governor in Council or the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade to establish committees to advise the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade on the discharge of his or her powers and duties that are specified in the appointment:

  1. The Special Implementation Team on Intellectual Property (“Implementation Team”) is established for a period not exceeding two years from the date of this Order in Council to advise the Ministers on implementing Ontario’s Intellectual Property Action Plan in accordance with the Terms of Reference established by the Ministers;
  2. The Ministers shall jointly appoint up to seven members to the Implementation Team to serve at the pleasure of the Ministers for terms not exceeding two years from the date of this Order in Council;
  3. The Ministers shall jointly designate one member as Chair; and
  4. The members of the Implementation Team shall be remunerated at a rate determined by the Lieutenant Governor in Council.
