On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas eight positions of Special Advisor, Agent-General were established by Order in Council 956/2019, dated June 20, 2019;

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty The Queen in Right of Ontario to appoint advisors to serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities,

Order in Council 956/2019 is hereby amended by deleting the “Special Advisor”, “Terms of Reference” and “Appointment” sections and substituting them with the following:

Special Advisor

Eight positions of Special Advisor, Agent General (“A-G”), accountable to the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, are each hereby established or continued for a period not exceeding three years from the date of each appointment to these positions, subject to the Appointment section below.

Terms of Reference

The Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade shall determine the terms of reference for the A-G and may amend them from time to time.

Appointment

The Lieutenant Governor in Council may appoint an A-G to serve at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council for a term not exceeding three years and, in the case of A-G (Chicago) and A-G (Dallas), may re-appoint an A-G for a further term not exceeding three years.

And further that Order in Council 1376/2019 be revoked effective the date this Order in Council is made.
