Order in Council 982/2021

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council established the position of Special Advisor on the Long-Term Financial Sustainability of Laurentian University by Order in Council 88/2021, effective January 21, 2021, for a period not extending beyond June 30, 2021;

And whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council considers it advisable to continue the Special Advisor position;

Therefore, pursuant to section 4 of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Act:

1. The position of Special Advisor on the Long-Term Financial Sustainability of Laurentian University (the “Special Advisor”), established by OIC 88/2021, is extended for a period not extending beyond December 31, 2021, effective the date this Order in Council is made.
2. The Lieutenant Governor in Council may reappoint the Special Advisor to serve at pleasure for a period not extending beyond December 31, 2021.
3. The Special Advisor shall be accountable to the Minister of Colleges and Universities and shall perform the duties and carry out the activities set out in the Terms of Reference established by the Minister.
4. The Special Advisor shall be paid such remuneration as the Lieutenant Governor in Council may determine.
5. The Special Advisor shall be reimbursed for work-related expenses incurred while engaged in his or her duties as the Special Advisor in accordance with the Travel, Meal, and Hospitality Expenses Directive and any other TB/MBC directives.
