1. Effective July 1, 2017, a public servant who is a deputy minister on June 30, 2017, shall progress to the next higher step rate, unless the deputy minister’s annual base salary is greater than the highest step rate. If the deputy minister’s annual base salary is already greater than the highest step rate, the deputy minister’s annual base salary shall remain unchanged until the highest step rate exceeds the deputy minister’s annual base salary, at which time the deputy minister shall be placed at the highest step rate.
  2. Effective July 1, 2018, a public servant who is a deputy minister on June 30, 2018, shall progress to the next higher step rate, unless the deputy minister’s annual base salary is greater than the highest step rate. If the deputy minister’s annual base salary is already greater than the highest step rate, the deputy minister’s annual base salary shall remain unchanged until the highest step rate exceeds the deputy minister’s annual base salary, at which time the deputy minister shall be placed at the highest step rate.
  3. Effective July 1, 2019, a public servant who is a deputy minister on June 30, 2019, shall progress to the next higher step rate, unless the deputy minister’s annual base salary is greater than the highest step rate. If the deputy minister’s annual base salary is already greater than the highest step rate, the deputy minister’s annual base salary shall remain unchanged until the highest step rate exceeds the deputy minister’s annual base salary, at which time the deputy minister shall be placed at the highest step rate.
  4. As of July 1, 2019 the step structure shall consist of two rates (including the Entry Rate).
