The Ministry of Health has updated the cumulative preventive care bonus reporting to align with guidelines under the Ontario Cervical Cancer Screening Program (OCSP) run by Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario).
Changes to Cumulative Preventive Care Bonus and Target Population Service Report (TPSR)
Beginning with the TPSRs produced in April 2025 the following changes to the pap smear preventive care category have been made.
The category name has been updated to ‘Cervical Cancer Screening’.
The minimum age for reporting patients in the category is now 25.
The reporting period for prior services received by eligible enrolled patients will be increased to 66 months from March 31 of the payment year.
The new lab services, ‘L734A - Cervicovaginal cellular evaluation/Pap as part of the OCSP’ and ‘L699A - Human Papillomavirus testing’, for tests under the Ontario Cancer Screening Program will be added to the list of reported services.
The existing lab services, ‘L713A - Cervicovaginal specimen’ and ‘L733A - Cervicovaginal specimen using the monolayer cell methodology’, are now outside the Ontario Cancer Screening Program and will no longer be reported for services provided in April 2025 onwards. They will continue to report for services provided to eligible patients prior to April 3, 2025, within the 66-month reporting period for the category.
