Order in Council 1244/2020

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council approved the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe 2019 by Order in Council 641/2019;

And Whereas the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing considered it necessary to prepare and propose an amendment to the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe 2019 pursuant to subsection 10 (2) of the Places to Grow Act, 2005, including to update and extend the population and employment forecasts;

And Whereas the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing conferred with interested persons and bodies, considered the submissions and recommendations on Proposed Amendment 1 to the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe 2019 and complied with all the requirements of the Act and Ontario Regulation 520/10, made under the Act, regarding the preparation, consultation and modification of Proposed Amendment 1 to the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe 2019;

And Whereas the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, under subsection 7(5) of the Act, recommends that the Lieutenant Governor in Council approve the attached proposed Amendment 1 (2020) to the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe 2019;

Therefore Amendment 1 (2020) to the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe 2019 is hereby approved under subsection 7(6) of the Act, to take effect on August 28, 2020.
