Order in Council 2016/2017

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty The Queen in Right of Ontario to appoint persons to serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities,

Matthew Torigian

be appointed Deputy Minister of Community Safety, Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, effective October 9, 2017, to serve at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council for a period not extending beyond February 26, 2019;

And as Deputy Minister of Community Safety, Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Matthew Torigian is also appointed Deputy Solicitor General pursuant to subsection 3(1) of the Ministry of the Solicitor General Act, effective October 9, 2017, to serve at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council for a term concurrent with his appointment as Deputy Minister of Community Safety, Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services;

And Matthew Torigian shall exercise the powers and perform the duties of the Deputy Solicitor General in the name of the Deputy Minister of Community Safety, Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services;

And that Order in Council O. C. 243/2016, dated February 17, 2016 be revoked on the effective date of this appointment.
