Order in Council 248/2018

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Case Management Masters’ Remuneration Commission (Commission) has been established pursuant to Order in Council O.C. 359/2012 dated March 27, 2012 (Order) and its composition and functions are set out in the Order;

And Whereas the Second and Third Commission conducted an inquiry under section 6 of the Order into the remuneration of Case Management Masters for the respective periods beginning April 1, 2016 and ending March 31, 2020 (Second Commission) and beginning April 1, 2020 and ending on March 31, 2024 (Third Commission);

And Whereas section 6 of the Order requires the first Commission to submit its report on the remuneration of Case Management Masters to the Minister of Government Services;

And Whereas the President of the Treasury Board has been assigned the powers, duties and responsibilities of the Minister of Government Services in respect of the Order;

And Whereas the Second and Third Commission submitted its recommendations for the remuneration of Case Management Masters to the President of Treasury Board on October 30^th, 2017 and the report has been submitted to the Lieutenant Governor in Council;

And Whereas subsection 12(2) of the Order requires the Lieutenant Governor in Council to give its written response to the Commission’s recommendations no later than four months after the report was submitted to the Government;

And Whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council has decided to respond to the Commission’s recommendations as set out in the letter attached as Schedule A of this Order;

It is ordered that the President of the Treasury Board convey the Lieutenant Governor in Council’s response to the Commission’s recommendations to the Commission in the terms of the letter attached as Schedule A of this Order.
